* Go to Start then Control Panel
* Double click on the Sound Tool
* Click on the Recording tab
* Right click and select "View Disabled Devices"
* Enable the Stereo Mix
After that, COD4 will run normally!

Another problem with windows 10 and Call Of Duty 4
Suddenly it was saying stats could not be read and it reset them so I tried to enter a server and
it said invalid key use options to enter a proper key or something like that.
then when I went to option and enter key and saw the key was blank
I reentered the key and it said it was valid but gave the same invalid key when I tried to enter the server.
Once again the options enter key was blank.
I reinstalled the game and still had the same problem.
I then went to the im3mp.exe file and right clicked it then went to properties and compatibility
and set it to run as administrator always
Then I ran up the game and entered the key again
this time it stayed and I was able to enter the game
After I exited the game I knew I had a copy of my players file and
copied it over the one ingame and was able to restore my stats and setting.
all is working properly now on Windows 10.

On my new install of windows 10 pro I had to make sure a microphone was plugged in to allow cod4 to run
